HASTINGS
PHILHARMONIC CHOIR
Ever sung in a choir? It's a great way to get to know
people! Hastings Philharmonic Choir is looking for singers to join them in a
concert of Beethoven's 9th choral symphony with full orchestra on 12th November
at White Rock Theatre. This (Ode to Joy) has been adopted as a European
anthem. The concert commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the
Somme and celebrates European friendship, cooperation and peace. The concert
also includes singing a 'prayer for the departed' called the Russian
Kontakion. High voice tenors and sopranos especially welcome. Rehearsal
evenings in the Tabernacle (opposite ESK) are on Wednesdays and/or Fridays.
