RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Forgive,
Lord, the guilt of my sin.
IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Ps
50 (51); Lk 19; Col 3:12-17.
MEDITATION:
Who is this strange woman? Why
does she choose to anoint the feet of Jesus? And why is this episode, or a very
similar episode, told in great detail by all four Gospel writers? We who are
gathered around this altar – imperfect and sinful though we may be – we are
that woman. What she has done in her act of loving worship, we hope to do in
ours. It is to us that Christ’s words are addressed: your faith has saved you –
go in peace!
Anon.
THE DIOCESAN
SAFEGUARDING OFFICE
has said that we need to facilitate new DBS checks for all volunteers whose certificates are more than 3 years old. Due to the high number of volunteers in the parish, we will facilitate 10 checks at a time and will be in touch with each volunteer when we are ready. This represents a considerable administrative task and we plan to send out application forms during June. We understand that the process can be inconvenient to some but we are obligated to ensure all volunteers have valid CRB certificates and appreciate your support with this. Chris Emary will be in touch with each volunteer when we are ready to start the process. Please feel free to contact him if you have any queries. Tel no. 07518521286 or 01424 753923. Thank you.

The
Royal College of Midwives is campaigning for abortion up to birth for any
reason Please write to our MP, Amber Rudd, asking her to sign the
Early Day Motion tabled by Labour MP Rob Flello calling for the resignation of

THE
PEOPLE’S NEW TAPESTRY
has been launched as part of the Hastings Celebrates 1066
events. You can buy a panel (£5) and sew a picture of yourself on; each panel
will then be assembled onto larger back pieces and then be displayed in St
Clement’s at least until the 1000th anniversary. It is hoped
that the Hastings embroidery will also be out this year too. Email heather_agar@yahoo.co.uk if you’d like a panel.
