RESPONSORIAL PSALM:  Show us, Lord, the path of life.

IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Ps 15:1-2, 5, 7-11

Meditation:

This day brings a message of joy:

On this day the Lord is risen

And has raised up with him the flock of Adam.

He was begotten for us

And is risen for us.

Today, by the risen One,

Paradise is opened,

Adam is brought to life,

Eve is consoled,

The call is heard,

The kingdom is prepared,

Humanity is saved

And Christ is adored.

From a 5th-century homily.

PRAYER

Dear God, in the battle that goes on in life,

I ask for a field that is fair.

A chance that is equal in all of the strife,

A chance to do and to dare.

And if I should win, let it be by the code,

With my heart and my honour held high;

But if I should lose, let me stand by the road,

And cheer as the winners pass by.
