RESPONSORIAL PSALM: In your goodness, O God, You prepared a home for the poor.

IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Ps 130 (131);   Mt 23: 1-12;   1 Pt 5: 3-7;   Rv 19:1-8

MEDITATION:  Holy Scripture cries out to us, saying, ‘Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.’ All exaltation is a kind of pride. The Prophet says, ‘Lord, my heart is not haughty …neither have I walked in great matters… Rather have I been of humble mind …; as a weaned child on its mother’s breast, so You solace my soul.’

NEXT ST LEONARDS-ON-SEA DEANERY SAFEGUARDING BASIC AWARENESS TRAINING
27th September 2016 from 7pm to 9pm, at St Mary Magdalene, TN40 1RH, opposite Bexhill train station.
You can book for the training on the Arundel and Brighton Diocesan website in the Safeguarding section under courses and events. Or phone our Parish Safeguarding Representative on 07518521286 or 01424 753923. The diocese needs numbers by 20th September so they can provide the right number of handouts and refreshments. The training is for everyone, but the diocese is particularly targeting those who have a role in the parish which requires a DBS check and whose role brings them into contact with children and with adults at risk. The training is not for people who have attended one of our recent basic training evenings.
If you prefer to undertake online training, please email Rosemary.Terry@bishops-house.co.uk so that she can register you with EduCare, the national online training provider.
