RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Oh, Lord, it is you who are my portion.
PALLOTTINE POST-COMMUNION
PRAYER (focussing on Ss Peter and Paul, whose solemnity is celebrated on
Wednesday):
Glorious Apostles, Peter and Paul, in your lives you
fulfilled the mission of Jesus Christ. Since the day of Pentecost you
proclaimed the message of salvation, founded communities and appointed
presbyters. You gave your lives for Christ. Obtain for us a living faith
and a burning
love for Christ.
We will follow your example always.
Your message goes out to all the earth.
Their word to the ends of the world.
Lord, our God, through the apostles Peter and Paul,
you laid the foundations for the Church.
By their intercession sustain and complete that faith
which leads us to eternal salvation.
This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St Vincent Pallotti, pray for
us.
Mary, Mother of Divine Love,
pray for us.
IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Jn
14:6-7; Acts 3:33; Gal 2:19-20
MEDITATION:
Let us love our neighbour and take to
heart the words of the Apostle Paul, who writes in today’s second reading, ‘If
you go snapping at each other and tearing each other to pieces, you had better
watch or you will destroy the whole community.’
And let the heavens exult and
earth rejoice, singing on the feast of Saints Peter and Paul the glory of the
Apostles. And when Christ comes as judge at the end of time, may he make us
sharers in eternal joy. Glenstal Office

THE
PEOPLE’S NEW TAPESTRY
has been launched as part of the Hastings Celebrates 1066
events. You can buy a panel (£5) and sew a picture of yourself on; each panel
will then be assembled onto larger back pieces and then be displayed in St
Clement’s at least until the 1000th anniversary. It is hoped
that the Hastings embroidery will also be out this year too. Email heather_agar@yahoo.co.uk if you’d like a panel.
