RESPONSORIAL PSALM: The
Lord is compassion and love.
IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Gn
18: 16-33; Ex 34:6-9; Ps 62;
Mt 5:43-48; Lk 15:11-32
MEDITATION:
Oh flame of love so living,
How tenderly you force
To my soul’s inmost core your
fiery probe!
Since now you’ve no misgiving,
End it, pursue your course
And for our sweet encounter tear
the robe!
What peace with love
enwreathing,
You conjure to my breast
Which only you your dwelling
place may call:
While with delicious breathings
In glory, grace and rest,
So daintily in love you make me
fall!

Thank you to those who have
signed our letter to the Hastings Observer protesting about the BPAS’s campaign
to decriminalize abortion up to birth
If this becomes law, women will
not need to be seen by a doctor before undergoing abortion.
This campaign is being supported by a
number of pro-abortion lobby groups but surprisingly includes the Royal College
of Midwives. This extreme abortion up-to-birth position has been adopted
without any consultation with members of the College whatsoever. If you are a
midwife, please sign a letter entitled Not in my name at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1iIe24b8f6AR7S8VEENPUVgQ9687eySJySslcjWdyd3Q/viewform (It will be easier to use this link if you copy and
paste it from our parish blog http://staroftheseahastings.blogspot.co.uk/
IF YOU ARE FROM THE GENERAL
PUBLIC (ie not a midwife), please:
1/ Contact the Royal College of Midwives
and voice your dissatisfaction about the policy and the lack of consultation,
and demand that they revoke it. Remember to be polite and reasonable.
2/ Get the word out – Let all your
friends who are midwives, maternity support workers or student midwives know
about this extreme abortion-to-birth position and ask them to sign the letter
at the above link..
3/ Let the public know about how uncomfortable you are with this new policy – write to your local newspaper, share your concern on social media – and let the Royal College of Midwives know about your concerns on their Twitter accounts and Facebook pages.
