RESPONSORIAL PSALM:  The Lord upholds my life.

IMPULSES FOR PRAYER: Lk 22: 24-27;   Jn 13: 12-20;   Gal 1: 6-10

MEDITATION:
The disciples did not understand and they were too afraid to ask. Afraid, perhaps, because this was not their idea of God. So do not be troubled if the thought comes to you that the God you once believed in does not exist. If I no longer believe in the God I believed in before, this comes from the fact that there was something wrong with my belief and it is a sign of growth. There is nothing new about it, for when our ancestors first ceased to believe in their pagan wooden gods, this did not mean that there was no God, but only that the true God is not made of wood. God is so much more than we will ever understand and we have a lifetime to explore what this means, but in the person of Jesus we have a privileged glimpse into this mystery. Jesus gave us a vision of God where others could only speak about it. Anon
