(back of) St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Hastings, newsletter, 4th January 2015

RESPONSORIAL PSALM:
Lord, every nation on earth will adore You.

IMPULSES FOR PRAYER:
Numbers 24: 10-19;   Isaiah 25: 6-9;   Rev 2:28; 22:16

MEDITATION:
See, from out of the heart of the world
Where the sun makes its entrance
Persian sages, expert interpreters,
Discern the kingly ensign in the sky.

‘Who is this ruler so great,’ they enquire,
‘Who commands the stars,
Before whom the heavens tremble
And the light and bright heavens bow down?’

This is the king of the nations
And the king of the Jewish people
Promised to our father Abraham
And his descendants for ever.’

Jesus, to You be glory,
Who reveal yourself to the nations,
With the Father and the loving spirit
For eternal ages. Amen.
Quicumque Christum quaeritis, hymn for the feast (translated by Glenstal)
